Campus outreach and an educational programme mark Pink October

October 23, 2026 | Jinhua, China

Members of the National Union of Ghana Students–China (NUGS-China), Jinhua Chapter, raised breast cancer awareness across Zhejiang Normal University on Friday, October 23, combining direct conversations on campus with an educational programme at the International Dormitory Center.

The initiative began in the early hours of the day, as chapter members approached students and other members of the campus community to discuss breast cancer awareness. The outreach brought the campaign into everyday campus life, extending its reach beyond those attending the main programme.

Later, participants gathered at the International Students’ Dorm for a programme centred on education, support, and empowerment. Following an opening prayer and welcome address, invited speaker Mrs. Kamassah Cecilia Emefa delivered the breast cancer awareness presentation.

A question-and-answer session allowed participants to raise questions and seek clarification directly from the speaker. The format allowed time for discussion alongside the presentation, making audience participation a central part of the gathering.

The programme also included a pink-ribbon session and card-designing activities for the pink shoot. These activities provided a creative way for participants to engage with the campaign and express their support. A vote of thanks and closing prayer concluded the event.

By connecting campus outreach with a dedicated educational session, NUGS Jinhua placed health awareness on its community agenda. The day reflected the chapter’s commitment to bringing students together not only through shared academic and cultural experiences, but also through concern for one another’s well-being.
