The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), China recorded a landmark achievement at the 2026 Farewell Ceremony for African Graduating Students and the LOFICA African Talents–Chinese Famous Enterprises High-Level Talent Exchange Event in Hangzhou-a flagship platform connecting African graduates with leading Chinese enterprises.
NUGS China Talent Hub & Graduate Incubation Support Initiative Takes Centre Stage
This event marked a significant milestone for the NUGS China Talent Hub and Graduate Incubation Support Initiative, an active NUGS program dedicated to bridging the gap between African talent and Chinese industries, investors, and entrepreneurs. Through this initiative, NUGS is making deliberate, sustained efforts to reach out to companies, investors, and industry leaders to create tangible career pathways, internship opportunities, and business incubation support for Ghanaian and African students.
Ghana’s Strong Presence & NUGS Hangzhou Chapter’s Leadership
Ghana recorded one of the strongest representations with over 25 graduating students actively participating in networking sessions and one-on-one industry matchmaking with Chinese enterprises across diverse sectors including automobile manufacturing, AI, IT, trade, investment, and entrepreneurship.
The NUGS Hangzhou Chapter played a pivotal role in the event’s success. Through an extensive publicity campaign leveraging its communication platforms and student networks, the chapter mobilized students from Ghana and several other African countries, significantly boosting African participation. The organizers commended the chapter for its professionalism, commitment, and collaborative spirit.
Ghana Receives Two Prestigious Awards
In recognition of the Ghanaian student community’s exceptional contribution, Ghana received two distinguished awards:
- Outstanding Student Representative
- Outstanding Country Representative (Ghana)
The awards were presented to the President of the NUGS Hangzhou Chapter, Mr. Alhassan Abdul-Sobbur Maltiti, reflecting both individual leadership and the collective commitment of Ghanaian students in China to academic excellence, international cooperation, and community engagement.
Key Speakers Inspire African Talent
Prof. Zhao Hao Xing, Dean of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Research Institute and Founder of China-Africa Bridge (CAB), shared the vision of connecting African talent with Chinese enterprises in trade, education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Teddy Guh, Representative of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), offered practical mentorship, encouraging students to position themselves as catalysts for stronger Ghana-China economic cooperation.
NUGS National President, Mr. Moses Arthur Baidoo, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing leadership, unity, and the responsibility of Ghanaian students to transform their international exposure into meaningful contributions towards Ghana’s national development.
