The National Union of Ghana Students in China (NUGS-China) officially launched its Talent Hub and Graduate Incubation Support Hub on 28 December 2025, marking a significant step in the Union’s efforts to connect Ghanaian students and graduates in China with professional opportunities, industry, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
The virtual launch, held on the NUGS-China Zoom platform, brought together representatives from the Ghana Embassy in China, corporate organizations, Ghanaian business networks, youth organizations, NUGS-China executives, and members of the Special Initiatives Committee.
The initiative was officially launched under the leadership of the NUGS-China Special Initiatives Committee, with Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of JOSPONG Group of Companies, serving as the Guest Speaker.
Bridging the Gap Between Education and Opportunity
The Talent Hub and Graduate Incubation Support Hub were established in response to the need to create stronger pathways between academic training and the world of work.
The Talent Hub is designed to facilitate connections between Ghanaian students and graduates in China and potential employers, industry partners, professional networks, and training opportunities. Through the Hub, NUGS-China seeks to better identify the skills and expertise within its membership and connect qualified students and graduates with relevant opportunities.
The Graduate Incubation Support Hub, on the other hand, focuses on supporting graduates and student innovators who aspire to develop their ideas into viable businesses and projects. It seeks to provide a platform for mentorship, industry engagement, business development, research commercialization, and access to potential partners and opportunities.
Together, the two initiatives seek to position NUGS-China not only as a student representative organization but also as a platform for talent development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and Ghana-China-Africa industry collaboration.
Strong Industry and Institutional Participation
The launch attracted participation from several organizations and partners, reflecting the broad collaborative vision of the initiative. These included Jospong Group of Companies, BATF Group, Langsung Electric FZE, Tianjin Able Import & Export Trading Co., Ltd., China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Center, Association of Ghanaian Business Owners in China (AGBOIC), and World Youth Talent Club (WYTC).
Representatives from these organizations shared remarks and perspectives on the importance of developing young African talent and strengthening connections between students, businesses, and industry.
The presence of these organizations also underscored the importance of partnerships in creating practical opportunities for students and graduates beyond the classroom.
A Platform for the Future
Speaking at the launch, the various stakeholders emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the skills, networks, and practical exposure required to compete in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
The National President, Hon. Moses Arthur Baidoo emphasized that the launch represents the beginning of a longer-term effort to build an ecosystem in which students can transition more effectively from academic training to employment, professional development, entrepreneurship, and innovation. He noted that NUGS-China must go beyond its traditional role of student representation by actively creating pathways that connect members to industry, opportunities, mentorship, and platforms where their knowledge and ideas can generate meaningful impact.
The Union intends to continue developing partnerships with companies, institutions, investors, researchers, and professional networks to expand the opportunities available through the two Hubs.
The launch therefore marks not an endpoint, but the beginning of a structured platform for talent development and graduate empowerment, with the broader goal of contributing to Ghana’s human capital development and strengthening the role of Ghanaian students in China-Africa cooperation.
Looking Ahead
NUGS-China will continue to develop the Talent Hub and Graduate Incubation Support Hub through strategic partnerships, talent identification, mentorship, internship and employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, and industry engagement.
The Union encourages students and graduates to actively engage with the initiative and take advantage of opportunities that will emerge through the platform.
The future of our students goes beyond graduation. It is about what they are empowered to build, contribute, and become.
