NUGS-CHINA BULLETIN #247# edition #2
A 4-hour meeting was held between all City/Chapter leaders of both Ghanaian communities, NUGS-China and the Ghana Mission in Beijing. This took place Last night between 8:00-11:55pm on January 29, 2020.
The meeting was chaired by Head of Mission H.E. Edward Boateng and attended by Embassy Officials, Mr. Alfred Hammond (First Secretary Consular Affairs) and Mr. Abu Osuman ( Minister Counsellor in charge of Political Affairs & Ag. Head of Chancery).
All Chapters were given the opportunity to speak out their peculiar challenges and what specific measures they required the Embassy to take to come to their aid.
Quite clearly, (and confirmed by Chapter Executives during the meeting), the common challenge that many are facing is the shortage of sanitizers and nose masks.
The Embassy has requested the National Executive Committee (NEC) to document all these and other peculiar needs and forward them (Embassy) before 6pm of Jan. 30 for immediate Address.
Prior to the Meeting, The Embassy had informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on our plight and they are ready and on the standby to come in due time.
A NUGS-CHINA REPORT CENTER has been created for all Ghanaians in China to report directly to the NEC in case of any emergency.
The Ghana Embassy in Beijing has also provided contact numbers in an audio voice Address by H.E. Edward Boateng for direct communication with them in case of emergency.
