The Shiyan Chapter of NUGS China joined fellow Ghanaians to celebrate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and camaraderie. The event brought together members from all four chapters for a day of fun, sports, and cultural connection.

Highlights of the celebration included anexciting football competition among thechapters. Though the Shiyan Chapter placed 4th, the team displayed great spirit and sportsmanship throughout the matches. Our ladies also actively participated in penalty kicks and a short race, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the day.

The celebration was not complete without a variety of delicious Ghanaian dishes that kept everyone refreshed and energized. More than the games and food, the most memorable part of the day was the sense of belonging—being surrounded by fellow Ghanaians, sharing laughter, language, and memories. For many of us, especially as the newest chapter in NUGS China, it was a heartwarming reminder of home and the power of community. We look forward to many more opportunities to come together and celebrate our heritage!
